Manufacturer-Engineered Gearboxes for Continuous Recycling Duty
In plastic recycling and extrusion machines, the gearbox is not just a transmission component.
It directly affects torque stability, screw performance, and continuous operation of the machine.
Xtrustar is a plastic recycling extrusion machine manufacturer, and because of this background, we supply gearboxes selected only for plastic processing applications — not for general industrial use.
Gearboxes Exclusively for Plastic Processing
These helical gearboxes are supplied only for plastic recycling and plastic extrusion machines. If you are looking for a gearbox for a recycling machine, searching across multiple industrial suppliers is not necessary. We supply gearboxes only for plastic recycling machines.

Note: Exact gearbox ratings vary by manufacturer & design; below are representative ranges based on industry helical gearbox sizing logic plus widely used thrust bearing part numbers (for axial load handling).
Screw Size Compatibility
Gearboxes are available for a wide range of screw diameters:
From 20 mm screw diameter
Up to 150 mm screw diameter
This range covers small-capacity recycling machines as well as heavy-duty industrial extrusion lines.
Motor Power Range
These gearboxes are suitable for:
2 HP to 90 HP motors
Selected for plastic processing torque requirements
Suitable for continuous recycling duty
Standard Input Speed
Standard input RPM: 1400 – 1440
Compatible with standard induction motors
Suitable for common recycling extrusion machine configurations
Designed for Plastic Recycling Load Conditions
These gearboxes are not general-purpose units.
They are selected with consideration for:
High torque requirements of plastic extrusion
Load variations during recycling operation
Continuous operating hours
Plastic melt pressure and screw resistance
| Screw Diameter (mm) | Suggested CD Class (mm) | Power (kW) | Output Torque (Nm) | Typical Gear Ratios |
| 20–30 | CD-60 | 2 – 5 | ~100 – 350 | 3:1 – 8:1 |
| 30–45 | CD-80 | 5 – 10 | ~350 – 700 | 3:1 – 10:1 |
| 45–60 | CD-100 | 10 – 18 | ~700 – 1,500 | 3:1 – 12:1 |
| 60–80 | CD-125 | 18 – 30 | ~1,500 – 2,700 | 3:1 – 15:1 |
| 80–100 | CD-160 | 30 – 50 | ~2,700 – 4,800 | 3:1 – 18:1 |
| 100–125 | CD-200 | 50 – 75 | ~4,800 – 7,500 | 4:1 – 20:1 |
| 125–150 | CD-250 | 75 – 110 | ~7,500 – 11,000 | 4:1 – 22:1 |
Notes:
1. These are practical ranges for plastic recycling/extrusion duty, not generic industrial gearboxes.
2. Larger screw diameters and higher outputs → larger CD, higher torque capacity.
3. Ratios are typical reduction ratios used in recycling machines to bring ~1400 RPM motor down to effective screw speed with torque multiplier.
4. Exact values depend on gearbox design, teeth count, and module.
40 Years of Practical Industry Experience
We have 40 years of experience in the plastic machinery industry for Dealing with top gearbox manufacturers and suppliers across Delhi, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Coimbatore etc.
Xtrustar is a plastic recycling machine manufacturer. For customers who already have a recycling machine and need a replacement or suitable gearbox, buying from a recycling machine manufacturer reduces mismatch and selection errors.
We understand the relationship between screw size, motor power, and gearbox torque, Plastic extrusion load behaviour is familiar to us, Gearbox selection is aligned with recycling machine operating conditions, Communication is simple because the application is clearly understood. Gearbox selection becomes easier when the supplier is also a recycling machine manufacturer.
Applications:
Plastic Recycling Extrusion Machines
Post-industrial Plastic Recycling Lines
Post-consumer Plastic Processing Units
Any Other Plastics Extrusion Machine
Gear Ratio & RPM Guidance (Input ~1400-1440 RPM)
Recycling and extrusion machines generally require high torque at lower screw speeds. A gearbox reduces input RPM and increases torque outputs accordingly and this is how Gear Ratio Matters.
Lower Ratios (2:1 – 5:1) → for smaller screws / higher throughput machines
Moderate Ratios (6:1 – 12:1) → most standard recycling extruders
Higher Ratios (15:1 – 22:1) → heavy duty recycling & high melt pressure machines
How Ratios Affect RPM & Torque
| Gear Ratio | Output RPM | Torque Increase (approx) |
| 3:1 | ~460 RPM | ×3 torque |
| 6:1 | ~230 RPM | ×6 torque |
| 10:1 | ~140 RPM | ×10 torque |
| 15:1 | ~93 RPM | ×15 torque |
So for an input motor at 1420 RPM with a 6:1 gearbox, the screw will see ~230 RPM with ~6× torque compared to motor alone — suitable for medium recycling lines.
